“Before vision therapy reading was hard for me, my eyes would hurt, the page was blurry, and I would get headaches. I would also constantly get carsick. So I started vision therapy and I loved it! Every one was so nice and the activities were fun. I now love reading. I am so grateful the page is clear and I don’t get any headaches after. I can even read and write in the car without feeling sick! Thank you so much for all your help.”

“Before Vision Therapy, Cole was really struggling in school. He was testing well below grade level in reading and spelling. Additional time reading and studying his spelling words were not helping his skills to improve. One of his cousins had the same struggles and was seeing great results with vision therapy, so we looked into it for Cole. Since participating in vision therapy, Cole’s reading speed, accuracy, and comprehension has improved so much. When he first started, he had to do an exercise that required him to read lists of letters. I remember feeling so worries at how hard that was for him-sometimes even wondering if he knew his letters and numbers. Now, he not only reads letters and numbers with ease, his reading abilities have noticeably improved! He’s even beginning to read for fun, and homework is down faster and without tears. We are incredibly thankful we’ve had the opportunity to have Vision Therapy for Cole!”

This program has been the best for him.”

“One of the biggest differences I have noticed with Emmett since starting his eye therapy is his confidence in reading. He doesn’t lose his place reading and can read faster. As we read scriptures as a family, he has been asking to read with us rather than just listening, he is even doing well with small print not losing his place!”

“My name is Corinne! I had a concussion playing water polo that left my eyes pretty bad! Then I came to vision therapy – with the incredible help of Dr. Duval and all the wonderful vision therapists – including Jason – my eyes are better than before my injury. Reading, driving, and other activities are easier and more enjoyable. Thanks to the great team at [New Sight Vision Therapy Clinic] in Provo!”

“I had a hard time mixing up letters. I would get the letters like ‘d’ and ‘b’ backwards. My coordination was hard at times too. The yoga and pencil pushups were the most fun and helped a lot. My coordination while playing sports, swimming, and ice skating has gotten much better and it has become easier to learn new moves. Now when I read, letters don’t jump around, and it feels much smoother. My mom loved helping me with it all.”

“Prior to vision therapy I had frequent eye strain from day to day activity. I struggled to read with both eyes open, often I would close either eye when reading or working on the computer. I also experience a lack of focus and frustration for no apparent reason. Since completing therapy my eye strain has been eliminated. I read easily with both eyes open, and my random frustration has all but gone away. I would definitely recommend seeking treatment from Dr. Duval and his staff.”
– Derrick

“Eye therapy has been so fun for me! It has helped me read. Over this school year, I was on 3rd grade level for reading and math. On the last week of school, I was at 4th grade level for math and reading.”

“Vision therapy was a huge part of my recovery from a traumatic brain injury from a car accident. I suffered from many difficult symptoms, which involved my eyes. It improved over time with vision therapy and exercise.
My visual field expanded, and my headaches have almost completely ceased. I can now read without losing my place, and I remember what I read! My balance has improved, and I am no longer overwhelmed by all the sights and sounds in public places.
I get much less fatigued by mental work and reading. My memory and attention are improving as well. I appreciated the testing that helped me see that I was making progress along with feeling better over time.”

“My daughter has struggled with reading and was referred to [New Sight Vision Therapy Clinic] by both her teacher and our neighbor. “Before vision therapy, school, watching entertainment, and daily tasks were difficult. Reading was slow, fatiguing, and painful. I couldn’t get through more than a chapter. Looking at screens gave me massive headaches and eye strain. I had a hard time completing online assignments and would frequently get headaches after watching a movie or a couple episodes of a show. I was also clumsy and had poor peripheral vision (which was scary when driving).
Now that I’ve gone through therapy, I can read for hours, binge-watch my favorite series, complete online assignments with little difficulty, and perceive depth better. I used to be an avid reader, so I am incredibly grateful I can read again.”

“Hannah is a fun spunky kid. She loved school but struggled with reading. Her teachers kept saying that she was fine and passed her along. Even though the teachers didn’t seem concerned, I was. By the time the teachers noticed a problem, she had fallen significantly behind in reading.
In comes Dr. Duval! Dr. Duval and his staff helped Hannah a ton! She is now reading close to grade level! I am amazed to see the progress over time. She wasn’t always good at doing homework, so it took a little long, but she is now doing great! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I would definitely recommend Dr. Duval to anyone who is struggling! It is worth the time and effort!”
– Leona, Hannah’s Mom

“When I first started coming to vision therapy, I didn’t have many of the hallmark signs of a concussion or vision problems. I didn’t have headaches or nausea, my eyes would get tired but that was about it. Over time though, as I worked with the amazing, kind, intelligent and personable staff, I noticed changes.
I could comprehend and remember things better, I’d get less frustrated with thing and overall was just happier and more successful in my endeavors. There is hope for recovery and happiness, I’m now preparing to serve a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I couldn’t be more excited and confident that I’ll be able to do so to my full capacity thanks to Dr. Duval and his staff.
Even if you don’t notice difficulties seeing or in readding comprehension right away, vision therapy can and will help you. This is my story and I couldn’t be happier as I continue down this path, I wish others the best of success as well. Things do get better and brighter.”

“We brought Kolton to vision therapy due to him falling behind in reading and his handwriting. He has dyslexia and dysgraphia. During his time in vision therapy, I noticed more than anything his self-confidence went up. The homework at times was tough to get him to do, but I always reminded him how important reading is. Once reading was not quite so difficult for him, he has been more excited to pick up a book and try reading.
We have been very happy with his success. We know we will continue with the exercises given, so he can continue to work hard and be successful with his reading. Thank you to Dr. Duval and his staff for setting him on a path to be successful. We appreciate all you have done for Kolton!”
– Jessica, Kolton’s Mom
“Cadence has improved on her reading. She used to cry when we would try and do reading time. No matter how much time or extra after school help she would get, nothing seemed to help. Vision therapy was a game changer for her. We still have work to do to get her speed up, but she is a much more confident reader.”
– Yesenia, Cadence’s mom
